clean skincare

Our skin is the largest organ in our body. The skin also acts as a passageway from the outside world into the bloodstream, so what we put on our skin will be absorbed by the body and enter our blood. Knowing that our bodies absorb the personal care products we use, it’s important to give ingredients a second look. Common ingredients found in conventional soaps, lotions, and makeup can increase our chemical exposure. Just like any packaged food, it’s important to start checking the labels of your skin care products. Check out my blog post on the main ingredients you want to avoid when it comes to skin care.

Use the "Think Dirty" App

“Think Dirty” is a free app, that is a really useful way to learn about the toxic ingredients found in your personal care products.

Simply scan the product’s barcode on the app and it will provide you with a “Dirty Meter”, a comprehensive rating, along with detailed and easy-to-understand information about the chemicals to avoid in products, certifications, health impacts and healthy personal care tips.
